What is Katzkin?
Katzkin is the nation’s premier manufacturer of custom leather seat replacement covers.
This is not a slip cover. Katzkin leather interiors completely transform the look and feel of your vehicle’s interior. The factory cloth (in some cases leather) is removed from your front and rear seats and replaced with your new Katzkin interior. This sometimes also includes the door panels and center console covering (depending on the vehicle) -- as a general rule: if it has cloth on it, you will receive the parts to replace it with your kit.
- Katzkin is not simple, easy to install slip covers - professional installation is recommended
- We do not sell seats, just the material to cover them!
Why should I choose Katzkin?
Katzkin has been the leading manufacturer of custom automotive premium interiors for over 30 years. Katzkin's superior quality product is respected in the industry and Katzkin is the official premium interior supplier to Jeep, RAM, Dodge, Chrysler, Fiat, Ford, Shelby, Hertz and CarMax. Over 2 million cars and trucks have been upgraded with Katzkin interiors. These premium interiors have been rigorously tested and approved by automotive engineers and independent testing laboratories.
Are Katzkin interiors 100% leather?
Virtually all mid-market cars have leather-trimmed seats, which means that part of the seat is covered with leather and part is covered with high-quality synthetic material.
Katzkin's Deluxe Trim leather content reflects the leather content provided by the car manufacturer, which normally includes full leather seating surfaces in the front seats and a combination of leather and synthetic materials in the rear seating areas. Only premium automotive leathers and synthetics, which are designed to meet or exceed the quality of the leather interior option offered by the manufacturer are used in the production of Katzkin interiors.
How does a Katzkin interior compare to a factory-installed leather interior?
Katzkin premium leather-trimmed interiors are produced from the finest imported automotive leathers and are specifically engineered to meet or exceed factory performance specifications. Katzkin's quality and craftsmanship is tested and trusted by Chrysler for their entire family of vehicles (Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, RAM and Fiat) as well as the Ford Motor Company.
How does a Katzkin interior compare to a seat cover?
A seat cover simply slips over over your current seat, often resulting in a loose or wrinkled look. Katzkin is way more than a seat cover. It is a precisely engineered automotive premium interior that completely replaces the cloth in your vehicle, including all seating surfaces, plus any center consoles or door panels (unless they are covered with a hard plastic or vinyl). When professionally installed, Katzkin interiors meet or exceed the fit and finish of a factory leather interior.
Can I get a sample?
Absolutely! Go ahead and purchase a Katzkin swatch book here. When you have decided on your final design and purchase your new interior from us, we will refund the cost of the book!
Are the colors shown on my computer screen accurate?
Leather is a natural product and colors may vary slightly from one dye lot to another. Due to the many variations in monitors and browsers, color samples may appear different on different monitors. Computer monitors are not all calibrated equally and color reproduction on the Internet is not precise. The safest bet is to get a a Katzkin swatch book here. When you have decided on your final design and purchase your new interior from us, we will refund the cost of the book!
Are there more design options available?
Yes! There are thousands of ways to customize your Katzkin interior. We will be glad to help you in any way possible. Just call, email or text us!
Does Katzkin offer a non-leather or vegan option?
Yes! The majority of the designs shown on this website are available in a non-leather synthetic material. Please contact us for pricing.
What materials does Katzkin offer and what do they mean?
Premium
Katzkin Premium Automotive Leather is a top-grain aniline dyed leather, produced in Brazil from hand selected hides of local origin. This industry leading Premium Leather receives a special retannage which enriches the leather and tightens the grain structure. A correction process then refines the surface of the leather, preparing the material for grain enhancement during the finishing process.
Katzkin Premium Leather features a durable protective finish that is impregnated into the leather, becoming an integral part of the material. This unique recipe for tanning and finishing results in a superior hand and a smooth surface touch. Katzkin Premium leather has been tested extensively to confirm that it meets or exceeds industry specifications for use in automotive interiors.
Tuscany
Katzkin Tuscany Leather is an elegant, fine-grained, automotive leather made from the clearest of Brazilian hides. This exclusive leather has been fully enriched and lightly corrected. Tuscany has a luxurious, tight grain texture. This clear leather reveals its natural characteristics while retaining the high performance necessary to meet strict automotive performance specifications. Resulting from decades of experience in the leather industry, Tuscany is Katzkin's finest leather.
Barracuda
Katzkin Barracuda is a unique preparation of our Premium Leather, providing a striking visual effect. In production, the leather is aniline dyed, with rich colorful dyes that fully penetrate the leather. Barracuda is then finished with a solid (usually Black in color) protective finish. Finally, the leather is perforated with a square shaped perf design, revealing the rich contrasting dye color around the edges of the perforated squares. Barracuda adds an element of drama and sophistication to any application.
Suedezkin
Katzkin Suedezkin is a luxury microfiber suede from Miko* that is made primarily from recycled polyester fiber and is 100% recyclable. It meets the most stringent requirements of the automobile industry for luxurious, timeless beauty, as well as the needs of the most demanding drivers for comfort, elasticity and breathability.
Synthetics
Katzkin synthetic materials are designed to complement leathers. They are proven to be stain resistant, easy to clean, durable, antimicrobial, and antibacterial resistant. These materials are soft and supple to the touch and available in matching colors for Premium and Tuscany Leathers as well as other trend-setting colors and textures.
How should I care for my new interior?
Katzkin uses premium automotive leathers and synthetics, which are designed to meet or exceed the quality of the leather interior option offered by the manufacturer. These leathers have received a protective treatment during the tanning process, which will protect the grain from the soiling and staining of everyday use.
For Spots and Spills: Blot excess liquid immediately with a clean absorbent cloth or sponge. If necessary, use clear, lukewarm water and gently wipe spill. If water is used, clean the entire area where the spill occurred. Dry with a clean towel and allow to air dry. Do not dry wet areas with heat dryers, hair dryers, etc. as this will damage the leather.
For Stubborn Spots and Stains: Use a mild solution of Ivory bar soap and clear, lukewarm water. Apply the soap to a clean wet sponge and blot the affected area. Do not apply force or pressure, as the heat and friction of rubbing will damage the leather. Rinse and allow to air dry naturally.
DO NOT USE: Any Saddle soaps, oils, abrasives, cleaners containing detergent (such as dishwashing liquids), solvent-based cleaners (such as mineral spirits), varnish or ammonia water or silicone-based products as these types of cleaners will cause damage to the protective top coat of the leather and may void your warranty. Your leather has already been preserved in the tanning process and needs no maintenance other than the simple cleaning recommended.
The synthetic material in the seats may be cleaned using the above methods.
